They also rescue victims and provide emergency medical attention as needed, ventilate smoke-filled areas and attempt to salvage the contents of buildings. Duties may include fire prevention, emergency medical service, hazardous material response, search and rescue, and disaster management. They are also a safe haven for abandoned newborn babies.

If community members lost coverage because they failed to provide requested information, they still can provide that information and have their coverage re-opened. They have 30 days to do so after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Long-Term Services and Supports eligibility rules. They have 90 days after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) eligibility rules.If one loses their card, they should call 1 (800) 482-8988 as soon as they notice their card is missing.NOTE:DHS is beginning the renewal process for ALL Medicaid beneficiaries NOW! If community members receive any request from DHS in the mail, THEY MUST RESPOND WITHIN 30 DAYS. Program provides paratransit service for those with functional mobility limitations that may be able to serve from door-to-door.There are some restrictions. In order to use this service, community members must have a functional mobility limitation that prevents them from accessing JET's normal fixed route bus service for all or some of their trips. A functional mobility limitation is something that keeps a community member from getting to a bus stop and using one of the fixed routes.Please contact program for schedule and reservation requirements.

Victim Services - Child Advocacy

A Child Advocacy Center, CAC, is a community-based facility which uses a multidisciplinary approach to reduce trauma to child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. Collaboration exists between medical, mental health, prosecutorial, child protective service, and law enforcement professionals in a effort to serve the best interests of young victims. To assist with the healing process, services for non-offending family members of victims are also found at a CAC.
